Project: Ziniaré Zoo Rescue
Alma was the oldest in the pride and was completely blind. Her advanced age, the distressing conditions she endured at the horror zoo, and previous inadequate nutrition have contributed to her sight loss. However, Alma’s remarkable intelligence shined through as she adeptly relied on her sense of smell to navigate around. While she occasionally joined the playful antics of Nala, Mala, and Dona, Alma preferred peach and serenity in her spot beneath the shade of the trees. Alma peacefully passed away on 6th August 2023. Although her loss has left us deeply saddened, we take solace in the fact that we were able to offer Alma respite from neglect and offer her food and care during her final elderly years. This adoption will continue, serving as a poignant and symbolic tribute in her memory.
Please note: This is a manually-renewed ongoing donation aiming to support the animals’ expenses for a three-month period. The costs vary depending on factors such as the animal’s diet, required medication, the number of keepers, and the country in which they are located.
