Sanctuary of Second Chances: Our Chimpanzees Are Thriving

We are delighted to share some wonderful news from our Mission Caita sanctuary in Angola: our rescued chimpanzees are thriving, and each of them is receiving the love, protection, and individual care they deserve!

For many of these incredible animals, life was once filled with fear, suffering, and uncertainty. Rescued from the horrors of wildlife trafficking, captivity, and exploitation, they arrived carrying the physical and emotional scars of their past.

Today, their lives tell a very different story.

At our sanctuary in the Maiombe Rainforest region of Cabinda, every chimpanzee is given what they need to flourish. From nutritious food and attentive daily care to a safe, enriching environment and the space to express their natural behaviours, their well-being remains at the heart of everything we do.

Every chimpanzee has a different story, different needs, and a unique personality. Some require additional attention, patience, or specialised support because of the trauma they have endured. Others are rediscovering their confidence, curiosity, and the simple pleasures of life. We make sure that no individual is forgotten or left behind.

What matters most is that they can finally live without fear.

Support Mission Caita by donating or symbolically adopting a rescued chimpanzee. Together, we can continue providing the care, protection, and future they deserve.
