Project: Mission Caita
Januario spent 14 years caged behind a steel factory in Cabinda as someone’s pet. He neither had a proper cage nor a proper diet, people just threw whatever scraps of food they had on them such as bread. Because of that, he was very malnourished. Chimpanzees are highly social animals but Januario spent his entire caged time alone. Asli was told not to approach Januario because he is aggressive but that could not be further from the truth. When Asli sat by his cage for three hours, Januario held her hands the entire time. He is a very sweet character and deserves the world.
95€ translates to approximately two months of feeding and deworming medicine, as well as wages for the caregivers.
Please note: This is a manually-renewed ongoing donation aiming to support the animals’ expenses for a three-month period. The costs vary depending on factors such as the animal’s diet, required medication, the number of keepers, and the country in which they are located.
