Penny is a white-bellied pangolin rescued from the depths of a Nigerian wet market. Destined to be boiled alive for her scales which hold immense value in traditional Asian medicine, Penny’s life was hanging by a thread.
Sadly, pangolins bear the brunt of rampant wildlife trafficking, making them the most trafficked mammal on our planet. Although Penny has since been released, this adoption acts as a symbol for the many other Pennys that Wild at Life e.V. tirelessly rescues, rehabilitates, and protects.
95€ translates to about three months’ worth of feed. If they are young pangolins, Asli buys milk formula and sends them over. If the rescued pangolins are older, insects will be bought.
Please note: This is a manually-renewed ongoing donation aiming to support the animals’ expenses for a three-month period. The costs vary depending on factors such as the animal’s diet, required medication, the number of keepers, and the country in which they are located.
