The article reports on the rescue and repatriation of 34 African Grey Parrots that were illegally trafficked from Africa to Spain. In collaboration with Turkish Cargo, which provided complimentary transportation, and various international organizations—including Wild at Life e.V., the Spanish Ministry for Ecological Transition, the Republic of Congo’s Ministry of Forest Economy and Environment, the Ethology and Biodiversity Research Foundation (FIEB), CITES authorities, and the Jane Goodall Institute—the parrots were safely returned to their natural habitat in the Republic of Congo. Upon arrival, they underwent rehabilitation at the Tchimpounga Nature Reserve before being released back into the wild.
